Rules clarifiaction for BPCR shoots

Gregg sent me an email after there was some confucsion over using smokeless powder at a BPCR match. here's what he sent me:

All Long Range Black Powder Cartridge Rifle matches DO allow the use of both black and smokeless powder. This is true in our club’s matches as well as matches of this type sponsored by other clubs across the country. Believe it or not there are people who don’t want to screw around with black powder and still like shooting rifles of this type. That is the very reason these matches are as popular as they are and one of the reasons they were established in the first place.

OUR CLUB is allowing the use of smokeless powder at our BPCR Silhouette match on August 3rd. Competitors WILL be eligible for awards for this match. This was also true for the April 20th match. The REASON for this policy is to encourage people with these cartridge rifles to shoot at every opportunity.

The ONLY Black Powder Cartridge Rifle match in, which this is NOT true, is the STATE BLACK POWDER CARTRIDGE RIFLE SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIP. This is an NRA Sanctioned match and the use of smokeless powder is not allowed by the NRA. This is also true across the country.

If you have any further questions, email me or Gregg.
